This week’s NextBigGames update brings one of the biggest mobile gaming deals of the year. Alongside the landmark acquisition, massive scaling stories are emerging across puzzle and hybrid casual games, while major industry moves like ByteDance’s Moonton sale discussions signal further consolidation across the global gaming ecosystem.
Scopely has officially acquired Loom Games in a $1 billion deal, making the Istanbul-based studio Turkey’s newest gaming unicorn.
The acquisition centers around the breakout hit Pixel Flow!, which launched at the end of 2025 and quickly reached seven-figure daily revenue.
Key highlights of the deal:
Loom Games valuation surpasses $1 billion
Pixel Flow became the only casual game in 12 months to break the US Top-20 monthly charts
Studio founded by Kübra Gündoğan (CEO) and Emre Çelik (CTO)
Strengthens Scopely’s position in the hybrid casual market
This marks another major milestone for Turkey’s rapidly growing mobile gaming ecosystem.
Meanwhile, ByteDance is reportedly in advanced talks to sell Moonton for $6–7 billion.
The buyer is expected to be Savvy Games Group.
Moonton is the developer behind Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which has:
1.5B+ installs
110M+ monthly active users
The potential deal would represent one of the largest gaming acquisitions of 2026.
Sega reported a 55% decline in operating income, falling to $129.3 million.
The drop is largely due to a $204.1 million impairment loss tied to its acquisition of Rovio Entertainment.
Additional challenges include the underperformance of Sonic Rumble, which struggled with key metrics such as customer acquisition costs.
However, Sega noted growing licensing revenue and confirmed two additional Sonic movies in development.
Several mobile titles are now showing aggressive growth curves.
